Last year we ran 2 fundraisers for 2 separate orphanages in Bali. We visited both orphanages during our current trip.

The Jodie O’shea Orphanage

Back in August last year we pledged to donate 5% of our Melbourne Gift Fair sales to the Jodie O’shea Orphanage in Bali. We visited the orphanage for their Christmas party during our current Bali visit, and we were touched to see so many happy children (there are about 60 residents at the orphanage at the time of writing).

The kids were hosting a group of families from a poor region of Bali and presenting them with gifts. This was there way of “giving back” – showing gratitude for the help they’ve received by helping those who are less fortunate than themselves.

Such are the principles by which Alison runs the orphanage, raising the children under her care to care in turn for others. This is the key to a truly better world!

We’re constantly coming across feedback that Jodie O’shea Orphanage is a well-run establishment with lots of integrity, so we’re happy that we’ve made the choice to support them.

Kesayan Ikang Papa Orphanage

Our December community care project was to raise funds for the Kesayan Ikang Papa Orphanage in Gianyar, Bali. This orphanage cares for physically and mentally challenged children in Bali, providing them with a home and teaching them skills so that they can integrate into society. This January we visited the orphanage and presented Pak Nyoman with the funds we raised through the donation of a percentage of our December sales.

Testimonials

"Buying from Blue Turtles is always a pleasure - opening all those drawers at the Gift Fair to see the hidden treasures inside – because you know you’ll only see the good stuff. Each stone is chosen aesthetically, set with heavy silver and finished beautifully... you don’t get bumpy edges, join marks that haven’t been polished out, left over tarnished sections or stones hanging out the back of a setting. The attention to detail is obvious from the moment you look at any piece. It’s well priced, especially for the quality of the stones and the amount of silver used. You get prompt and efficient service, always with a smile!"
